National Society for Education in Art and Design (NSEAD)

The Society’s authority is based on over one hundred years of experience and concern for the subject. We have contacts within government and its various agencies, with local education authority departments and other educational and cultural organisations in the UK.  A particular strength is our unusual breadth of membership drawn from all regions of the UK and every sector of formal and informal art, craft and design education, together with an increasing number of overseas associate members.  The NSEAD is an affiliate of the International Society for Education through Art, a UNESCO non-governmental organisation.

Benefits of membership:

  • Professional advice
  • NSEAD publications – including 4 newsletters and 3 issues of the Journal of Art & Design Education each year, occasional papers and access to the Society’s mail order specialist book list.
  • Extensive continuing professional development opportunities – through a programme of national and regional events and the chance to make contact with colleagues from all phases of education across the UK and overseas.
  • Full access to all areas of the extensive NSEAD web site and associated sites.
