Job Opportunity - Administrator
We need an experienced Freelance Charity Administrator to join our volunteer led team, at the Council for Subject Associations. This role requires experience of managing charity governance, finance records, updating websites, and supporting marketing and communications.
This is a key position with the responsibility of running the virtual office, supporting our voluntary Chair, Vice-Chair and Directors and communicating with our Subject Association Members and Associate Members.
Job Role: CfSA – Charity Administrator
Outline: Self- employed part time (negotiable – as agreed)
Rate: £18.75 per hour
Location: Remote
Start: ASAP (no later than 7 April)
About the Council for Subject Associations (CfSA)
The CfSA is an umbrella organisation, independent of Government, which represents its member subject associations nationally and can speak with a single voice on key issues and consultations.
Members of the CfSA benefit from a unified voice, representing Subject Associations in informing educators, policy makers and media about research and professional practice informed approaches to the curriculum, pedagogy, teacher training and professional development.
What is a subject association?
Subject Associations are membership organisations, whose members are subject experts. Subject associations are, independent of Government, often charities and their mission is to further teaching and learning in a specific subject in schools, colleges and ITE in universities.

What we are looking for - Key Responsibilities:
Your duties will include:
- Committee administration (booking and preparing for meetings, producing reports and papers, minuting, and meeting follow-up)
- Responsibility for the organisation, running, and documenting of CfSA member events, including the guest presentation sessions, Conference(s) and AGM
- Member liaison (onboarding new members, responding to enquiries, sending renewal communications, producing and chasing invoices)
- Completing financial reporting as required by Companies House and the Charity Commission
- Tracking membership, paying invoices, attending CfSA finance committee meetings and generally managing the CfSA’s finances
- Maintaining and updating the website regularly
- Liaising with members regarding updates to the Directory
- Collecting post from our physical address in Leicester on a bi-monthly basis (this address can be amended to suit the successful applicant if required)
The successful applicant will have recent and relevant Charity Administration experience
